Precious Felder Gates, Attorney and Managing Owner

The Founder and Managing Owner of FAM Legal is an Atlanta native who founded the firm to provide effective, high-quality legal counsel that would achieve the unique objectives of each individual type of client. Clients often want close contact with their lawyer. Attorney Felder prides herself on being an attentive listener and providing consistent communication to her clients. She works closely with her clients in developing practical solutions to ensure the best possible outcome for their case.

Attorney Felder received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Georgia State University and her Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School. After working for a small boutique civil litigation firm, Attorney Felder started FAM Legal immediately out of law school. Attorney Felder has represented a variety of clients in the areas of family law and entertainment. Attorney Felder provides passionate representation, assisting families dealing with the stresses of separation and divorce. She is an experienced litigator, and in 2015, established her first multimillion-dollar jury verdict. For her entertainment clients, she has negotiated six-figure deals in both music and TV/film. She is passionate for all of her clients and provides aggressive, zealous advocacy to obtain her client’s full satisfaction.

Attorney Felder is a member of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and the Gate City Bar Association. Attorney Felder is admitted to practice before the Georgia state courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

In her free time, she enjoys live music, having been a member of the orchestra in college playing the bassoon. She is the mother of two beautiful girls and devotes her life to her family. Attorney Felder prides herself on being personable and relatable to all of her clients.

Matthew Williams​​, Senior Associate Attorney

Matthew Williams is a dedicated Family Law Attorney with a passion for advocating on behalf of his clients in family-related legal matters. He brings a unique perspective to his practice, rooted in a strong academic background and diverse legal experience. 

Matthew received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Armstrong State University (now part of Georgia Southern) and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (2015). His legal career has been marked by his commitment to his clients and his wide-ranging expertise. With a background in criminal defense, family law, personal injury and insurance defense litigation, he has successfully represented individuals in various legal domains. He has since dedicated himself to helping people with domestic cases. Matthew is licensed to practice in Georgia  Courts – Admitted to the Court of Appeals, Georgia Supreme Court, Middle and Northern District of Georgia Federal Courts.  His unique blend of legal acumen and personal commitment makes him an excellent choice for anyone seeking legal guidance in family law. He provides compassionate, effective, and expert legal representation in complex and non-complex divorces, including high asset allocation, contentious child custody and related matters.  

In his free time, Matthew’s life revolves around family, particularly supporting his son’s passion for travel sports. He proudly wears the hat of a dedicated sports parent, often playing the role of “taxi” across the Southeastern US to ensure his son can pursue his athletic dreams.

Crystal Thompson, Paralegal

Crystal is a detailed-oriented Paralegal who applies excellent writing skills in drafting briefs, legal memorandums,

motions and correspondence. She conducts all legal business professionally and with little guidance from attorneys or supervisors. Crystal is an extremely organized Paralegal that can manage caseloads with authority and advanced skill. She is capable of collaborating with a diverse range of legal personnel including associates, partners, and legal secretaries. Crystal regularly assists clients with case management and the completion of discovery. She is an integral part of the litigation process and communicates with clients regularly.

Crystal attended Valdosta State University, with a degree in Political Science. She then attended University of Georgia where she received her Paralegal Certificate.

LaTesha Roberts, Office Manager

LaTesha Roberts, originally from Houston, Texas, moved to Georgia in 2020. LaTesha has prior professional legal experience to include office management and law office administration. She obtained her Associates Degree in Applied Science and Business Management. She has also pursued Paralegal Studies. She joined our team as a Legal Secretary to assist the firm with administrative practice management, scheduling, file organization and maintenance. After a year with the firm, she became one of the clients’ favorite liaisons, promoting her to Intake and Client Relations Manager. After proving her importance by contributing to the firm’s significant growth, she transitioned to become the firm’s Office Manager. Ms. Roberts oversees human resources, accounts receivables, accounts payables, office administration and marketing.

When she is not assisting the firm, she is busy being a full-time mom, who enjoys bowling and watching horror movies.

Rita Haley, Client Relations Specialist

Rita was born to a Liberian father and Russian Mother in Monrovia, Liberia and later spent her primary school years in New Jersey. She moved to Georgia to receive her diploma and attend Georgia State University. Rita finished college at Rowan University, majoring in Radio, Television and Film. She has also spent time in Guam and Texas. Rita has experience in the legal industry as an Intake Specialist and is. a skilled communicator and sales professional.

Rita successfully manages the firm’s client intake process, client relations programs and marketing. Rita is very personable, with a bright smile and welcoming spirit. In her free time, she enjoys reading, writing and singing as a member of the Praise & Worship Ministry at her church.

Jada Bernard, Our new Legal Assistant

Jada Bernard’s journey in the legal field is guided by her passion for client satisfaction, a commitment to excellence, and a desire to make a positive impact in every interaction. Born in New Rochelle, New York, Jada relocated to Georgia in 2005, where she has since embraced her role as a dedicated legal assistant.

After graduating from Johns Creek High School, Jada pursued her academic aspirations at Georgia State University, where she earned an Associates Degree in journalism. Throughout her college experience, Jada’s dedication to exceptional service shone through as she worked in both the university Admissions office and bookstore, gaining valuable insights into customer relations and administrative processes.

Driven by a desire to channel her talents into a field where she could truly make a difference, Jada transitioned to the legal arena, where she quickly found her niche in Family Law. With three years of hands-on experience in the legal field, Jada has honed her skills in client communication, case management, and legal administration, ensuring that every client receives the support and guidance they deserve.

As a proud second-generation immigrant, Jada remains deeply connected to her roots and actively participates in the Caribbean Student Association during her college years. Additionally, she dedicates her spare time to supporting the Integrity Children’s Fund, assisting with event setup and community outreach initiatives.

Outside of her professional and volunteer commitments, Jada finds joy in spending quality time with her family, hosting dinner parties with friends, and exploring the great outdoors with her beloved dog. Her vibrant personality, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to client satisfaction make her an invaluable asset to our legal team.

Karine Cesar, Client Relations Specialist

Karine Cesar brings a unique blend of cultural insight, academic prowess, and professional experience to her role as a sales consultant. Born in Haiti, Karine’s journey began with her parents’ pursuit of a better life, leading them to settle briefly in Queens, NY, before finding their permanent home in Irvington, NJ, where Karine was raised alongside her younger sisters.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge and a passion for personal development, Karine pursued a diverse educational path. She studied Sociology and Psychology at Rutgers New Brunswick, honed her business acumen through classes at Pace University, and furthered her legal expertise with Paralegal courses at Broward County College in South Florida.

In 2005, Karine’s family made the decision to relocate to Georgia, solidifying their commitment to building a brighter future together. With a wealth of professional experience under her belt, including roles in the Mortgage Industry Call Centers, T-1 Sales, and Legal Intake sales, Karine is well-equipped to navigate the intricacies of the sales landscape.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Karine finds joy in a diverse range of interests. An avid enthusiast of British criminal programs and the ID Channel, she also indulges her creative side through activities such as painting with diamonds and picture finds. Additionally, Karine dedicates her time to serving at church and nurturing her garden, finding solace and fulfillment in giving back to her community and connecting with nature.

Fluent in both French and Haitian Creole, Karine’s multicultural background enriches her interactions with clients and colleagues alike, allowing her to bridge cultural divides and foster meaningful connections.
